Jaylene Tyme has been an iconic figure in Vancouver’s community for over 30 years. Banff Pride welcomes Jaylene as part of our speaker series. Join us as she opens up about her path to self-discovery and empowerment. From her early experiences as a Sixties Scoop survivor, through overcoming challenges with addiction, to becoming a celebrated leader in Vancouver’s drag scene, Jaylene shares her remarkable journey. Beyond Cancel Culture: Embracing Accountability for True Allyship
Presented by Makaylah Rogers (they/them) & Fia-Lynn Crandall (she/her), Owners of Frankie D’s Donuts & Scale Naturally
In today’s world, inclusion efforts are necessary, critical and need to be prioritized. Rates of hate crimes against the 2SLGBTQIA+ community are increasing, as well as suicide rates (especially for youth, trans & non-binary folks). It is no longer okay to stand on the sidelines as microaggressions and ignorance continue to hurt the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
However, we also know that the fear of being ‘canceled’ is stopping well-intentioned allies from stepping up.
This session invites both the queer community and allies to engage in a powerful conversation on moving beyond cancel culture toward accountability, where we can grow and do better together.
Through a blend of education, storytelling, and open dialogue, we’ll explore:
• How accountability can build stronger, more inclusive communities
• Practical tools for learning from mistakes and having tough conversations about inclusion
• What true allyship in action requires—imperfection and all
Whether you’re afraid of messing up or exhausted from constant microaggressions, this session offers a path forward, turning mistakes into opportunities for growth and deeper connection.

Whether you’re a seasoned rider or new to e-Biking, come and show your pride along this fun Rainbow Ride! This guided e-Bike tour will take you through some of Banff's amazing scenery while fostering a sense of community and inclusivity. Learn about our local wildlife, and maybe spot some action from the elk rutting season (from a safe distance). Embrace the fall colours, and connect with fellow adventurers in a fun and supportive environment.
We are providing e-Bikes for everyone, but you are welcome to bring your own!
We will meet at 4 pm at the Bear Street offices of White Mountain Adventures, the sponsor of this ride. Come a little early if you want to decorate your borrowed e-Bike and add more rainbows to our ride! The tour will be around 2 hours going along the golf course loop, with a few stops along the way.
Level of Activity: Easy
Distance: Approx. 11 km biking Banff
Tour Length: 2 hour round trip
Cost : $10 (in support of Banff Pride)
Minimum age: 14 years old
Minimum rider height: 5'0"
What to wear:
Dress warmer than you would for a day of walking, as travelling by e-Bike creates the effect of a cooling wind for riders. As the e-Assist can do most of the work, riders may not generate the same amount of
heat as they would on a regular bike. Recommend long sleeve shirt plus windbreaker or light jacket at a
minimum. Running shoes/walking shoes recommended; no sandals or flip-flops
Presented by and proudly supported by White Mountain Adventures

Join us for a peaceful escape into nature on Monday October 07. Led by certified Forest Therapy Guide Ken Ouendag, this event offers a soothing way to decompress, reconnect with the natural world, and share a tranquil experience with your community.
Forest therapy, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku or “Forest Bathing,” invites you to slow down and tune into your senses. During this guided walk, Ken will lead you through a series of gentle invitations designed to help you relax, refresh your mind, and deepen your connection with the surrounding environment.
This isn’t just about the benefits nature provides—such as reduced stress, improved mood, and a greater sense of belonging—it’s also a chance to share stories and simply have fun in a supportive community setting.
Spaces are limited to 12 participants to ensure an intimate and personalized experience. We’ll gather at 1:00 PM at the Spray River West trailhead (just past the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel) and wrap up by 3:00 PM.
Please note a waiver as part of the registration process will be required to be filled out upon arrival.
