Zine night. tiny books, big ideas
Make a tiny book about anything. Or nothing at all.
July's Craft Night at Altitude is a zine-making night with artist Gini Dickinson. Zines are small, self-made booklets where you get to play with images and words and say whatever you want, however you want to say it. If you've got something on your mind, this is your format. If you just want to mess around with paper and scissors for a couple of hours, that works too.
What you'll do
Learn the basics of zine format and construction, then build your own tiny book from scratch. Gini will help with the folding, cutting, and layout. You bring the ideas (or the willingness to find them as you go). No writing experience, no art background, no plan required.
What you'll take home
Your own finished zine, made by your hands, about whatever you decided it should be.

Craft Nights at Altitude is Banff Pride's monthly gathering for anyone who wants to spend a couple of hours making, moving, or building something with their hands. One Tuesday a month, we take over a room, lay out the supplies, and open the door to the whole community.
Some nights are quiet and tactile. Others are loud and a little ridiculous. All of them are beginner-friendly, queer-centred, and built on the simple idea that craft and company go well together. No experience required. No pressure to be good. Just show up.
