There are two types of memberships in the Banff Pride Society!


Individual Memberships

Individual members represent only themselves. Individual members shall be notified of all general meetings and may participate and vote in meetings of the general membership and, with notice, participate in other meetings of the organization. They may be nominated for election as a Director, may head or participate and vote in committees constituted by the Board.

Any individual who is a resident or is employed within Banff National Park, Îyarhe Nakota, the Blackfoot Confederacy (including the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai), Tsutiina nation or Alberta Métis, is at least age sixteen (16) years of age and who is in accord with the mission and values of the society may be a member.

Corporate Memberships

Banff Pride Society membership is open to registered non-profit organizations or businesses, subject to Section 4.1 and approval by the Board. Corporate members shall appoint one representative. Representatives of Corporate Members shall provide an authentication letter from the organization before they are registered as such. Representatives of Corporate Members are not eligible for nomination for election as a Director. The appointed representative of a Corporate Member shall be notified of all general meetings and may participate in them. With notice, Corporate Members may participate in other meetings of the organization and may sit on committees constituted by the Board. Corporate members do not have voting privileges.

Membership will valid for 12 consecutive months.

The Banff Pride Society operates on the lands of Treaty 7 territory

The Banff Pride Society operates on the lands of Treaty 7 territory. We acknowledge the past, present, and future generations of the Îyârhe Nakoda (Stoney Nakoda) – comprised of the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Goodstoney Nations – as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation and the Blackfoot Confederacy comprised of the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Shuswap Nations, Ktunaxa Nations, and Metis Nation of Alberta, Region 4. We acknowledge all Nations who live, work, and play here, help us steward this land, and honour and celebrate this place.
