Upstander Training

Allyship in Action

Real allyship means showing up, especially when it’s hard.

Join the YWCA Banff for a special Pride Week edition of Upstander Training. Allyship in Action, designed to give you the tools to support and protect members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in everyday life, work, and social settings.

Through real-world scenarios and practical tools, this free training helps participants:

  • Understand how queerphobia, harassment, and exclusion show up in Banff’s workplaces and public spaces

  • Recognize when consent is not present and identify inappropriate behaviour

  • Learn how to intervene safely and effectively using a proven Upstander framework

  • Build a workplace and community culture rooted in respect, safety, and accountability

  • Whether you’re a business leader, frontline worker, friend, or ally, this training is for you.
