Outdoor Rock Systems
Build real outdoor climbing skills in a supportive 2SLGBTQIA+ environment.
Outdoor Rock Systems
Ready to move beyond a casual day on rock and start building practical outdoor climbing skills?
Outdoor Rock Systems is a full-day climbing clinic from Banff Pride designed for 2SLGBTQIA+ adults who want to deepen their understanding of technical systems used in outdoor climbing. This session offers a more in-depth learning experience, with a focus on foundational skills such as rope management, anchor building, and anchor cleaning.
Whether you are beginning to explore technical systems for the first time or looking to strengthen existing knowledge, this clinic is designed to help you grow your confidence in a welcoming, low-pressure setting. This is not about showing off. It is about learning well, asking questions, building trust in yourself, and gaining hands-on experience on real rock with community around you.

Why Join Banff Pride for Outdoor Climbing?
Banff Pride’s climbing programs are about more than sport. They create space for 2SLGBTQIA+ people to build skills, confidence, and connection outdoors in Banff National Park.
Too often, outdoor recreation spaces can feel intimidating or unwelcoming. This clinic is designed to offer something different: expert-led learning in a setting that is encouraging, accessible, and community-focused.
Expect a day that is technical, supportive, practical, and fun. Chalk, community, and a little mountain magic do not hurt either.

Our goal is to make this day as accessible and friendly as possible. If you are wondering whether this clinic is right for you, we encourage you to reach out.
If participants indicate that they need support accessing necessary equipment, the guides will follow up directly.
